Games I Play

Forget Xbox, Playstation and Wii, the greatest game machine is the free MAME arcade emulator.  Most arcade games prior to 1990 all used similar processor.  Games were better (imho) then even though graphics don’t compare to what’s out there now.  They required imagination, calculation and dexterity.   Best of all, since they all used similar chip sets, can now ALL be played with one arcade emulator.

These are the exact programs that ran on the arcade machines, not dupes.  You even have to insert a coin.  Well, to insert a coin you press ‘5′ on the keyboard;  it took a while for me to figure that out.  The emulator is easy to use once you learn it,  but doesn’t come with an instruction manual.

I don’t even play video games now,   just think it is too cool that you can play them this way.  Thinking about days growing up when I dreamed of having an endless supply of quarters for Centipede or Missile Command.   Now that those days arrived don’t really care about playing them.   Still it is ripshit.

You have to download a game’s source code (ROM) for the emulator to use.  They’re also free, and it’s not illegal to own them, just to use them.  Right.
